Kuala Lumpur is truly Asia and truly worth visiting
Kuala Lumpur or just “KL” is the capital city of Malaysia in Southeast Asia. Literally translated in Malay Kuala Lumpur means “muddy estuary” and that is exactly how it all began for this metropolis Asian city. In less than 150 years time KL has grown from a small sleepy mining village to a bustling mega city with a population of around 6.5 million. Today KL is one of the most vibrant cities in Southeast Asia.
Kuala Lumpur is every travelers dream, KL has historic temples and mosques side by side with modern skyscrapers and shopping malls. One of the most memorable thing about KL from a traveler point of view is the diversity of this city. Ethnic Malays, Chinese mining prospectors, Indian migrants and British colonials all helped make Kuala Lumpur into the amazing city it is today.
The KL landmark is undoubtedly the Petronas towers, the largest twin towers in the world. KL is a shoppers paradise and when you get tired of the retail therapy you can enjoy some of Asia’s best food, the food is very diverse and influenced by the local Malays but also of Indian, Chinese and Western immigrants.
